Hi Shelagh
I’ve just discovered your beautiful music thanks to listening to Stuart Maconie’s Freak Zone on the I-player. There was nothing freaky about it. I was so taken with it that I immediately downloaded the MP3 of Let No Man Steal Your Thyme. Haven’t listened to it all yet but what struck me was that there is a different version of Liz’s Song on the album, with bass & backing vocals, from that which Stuart played, which was just you and your guitar. I much prefer the solo version. Was that a demo and does it exist on any commercial recording?
Regards
Richard
Hi Richard, glad you enjoyed Shelagh’s appearance. Shelagh has recorded an acoustic version of Liz’s song for her forthcoming album Parnassus Revisited.
best A
Cheers Andy. Looking forward to that! Contemplating the long trip north from York to catch one of her gigs
Coventry folk legend has died.Is it true that he inspired Rod’s Song? Some of the many heartfelt obituaries seem to suggest so.
Yes that’s true
He was missed yesterday as he used to bang the bass drum for Coventry’s Earlsdon Morris Men.I’m sure he was there in spirit.
Shelagh, I am so glad that you have returned to the music scene. I’ve missed your great talent and voice for too many years.
